This includes kitchen exhaust systems, make-up air units, kitchen cooling units, exhaust fans, supply fans, pollution control units, direct-fired make-up air equipment, control panels, and associated electrical and mechanical systems. This position requires a highly motivated individual capable of working independently while providing exceptional customer service. Technicians are expected to troubleshoot efficiently, communicate professionally, document all work accurately, and represent Hood Depot Service with integrity and professionalism. Primary ResponsibilitiesService & Troubleshooting Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, refrigeration, and control system failures. Troubleshoot commercial kitchen ventilation systems quickly and accurately. Repair equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards. Replace defective motors, bearings, belts, pulleys, contactors, relays, sensors, VFDs, switches, filters, and controls. Perform complete operational testing after every repair. Identify root causes—not just symptoms—to minimize repeat service calls. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections. Inspect all mechanical and electrical components. Check belts, bearings, motors, fan wheels, filters, wiring, electrical connections, and safety devices. Verify equipment is operating within manufacturer specifications. Identify potential failures before they become emergency service calls. Installation & Start-Up Install replacement equipment and accessories. Perform equipment start-up and commissioning. Verify proper fan rotation, motor amperage, airflow, temperature, controls, and safety devices. Confirm all safety interlocks are functioning correctly. Assist installation crews when required. Documentation Every technician is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate documentation.

Detailed notes in Housecall Pro Equipment model and serial numbers Diagnostic findings Repairs completed Parts used Electrical readings Airflow measurements when applicable Photographs before and after repairs Recommended future repairs Customer communication notes Documentation should allow another technician to understand exactly what occurred without revisiting the site. Customer Service Technicians are expected to provide outstanding customer service by: Arriving on time. Communicating professionally. Explaining equipment problems in understandable terms. Offering repair recommendations without pressure. Respecting customer property. Cleaning the work area before leaving. Building long-term customer relationships. Communication Technicians are expected to maintain communication throughout the day.
Responsibilities include:
Checking schedules daily. Reviewing job history before arriving. Communicating delays immediately. Updating dispatch when jobs are completed. Notifying the office of additional work discovered. Coordinating with Project Managers when larger repairs are required. Safety Technicians shall always follow Hood Depot Service safety policies.
