Job Description Kitchen Equipment Repair Technician at Cheeca Lodge & Spa Housing Available (see below for details)
Relocation Assistance Available Join Our Maintenance Team:
Cheeca Lodge & Spa, a renowned luxury resort in Islamorada, FL, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Technician to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our commercial kitchen equipment. This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of our culinary services.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including walk-in freezers, steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, dishwashers, and more. Conduct periodic inspections, cleaning, and servicing of equipment to ensure optimal performance. Log and manage work orders through the work order management system. Install new equipment, repair leaks, set up wiring controls, and replace defective parts. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and resort officials to address and solve maintenance issues. Respond promptly to emergency repair calls, including after-hours requests. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Profound knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment operation and maintenance. Expertise in soldering and blazing using oxygen/propane. Strong ability to read wiring diagrams and follow operation manuals. Knowledge of plumbing and electrical repair practices, and commercial refrigeration theory. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment. Keyboarding and basic computer skills. Possession of refrigerant transition and recovery certification. At least 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
