Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting commercial refrigeration systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment. Duties Install, service, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, prep tables and wine cellar units. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems and components. Troubleshoot mechanical systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, boilers, and appliances to ensure optimal operation. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to repair or replace defective parts swiftly and efficiently. Communicate clearly with clients regarding system performance issues and provide expert recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs for all work performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies. Assist with HVAC system installation projects including ductwork setup, piping connections, electrical wiring, and building automation integration. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerant handling and environmental safety standards. Skills Proven experience as a service technician in commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems with a strong mechanical background. Construction experience is a plus for understanding building layouts and installation requirements. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, HVAC design plans, and building automation system diagrams accurately. Knowledge of plumbing systems related to refrigeration units and HVAC installations. Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; familiar with electrical systems within HVAC/R equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills for refrigeration components such as compressors, coils, thermostats, valves, and control systems. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system repair including air conditioning units, boilers, pumps, fans, and mechanical systems repair. Experience with HVAC system maintenance procedures to ensure peak performance of equipment. Familiarity with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers along with specialized diagnostic tools for electrical testing. Building automation systems knowledge for integrating controls that optimize system efficiency. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs or maintenance needs. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of environmental regulations governing refrigerants is essential. Valid van driver's license for transporting tools or equipment between job sites when necessary.
