Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Technician to join our team and help ensure our operations meet all environmental standards and regulations. In this vital role, you will perform inspections, monitor compliance activities, maintain accurate monthly and annual documentation, make recommendations for repairs/updates as needed and complete approved repairs. Your energetic approach will help us maintain a safe, sustainable, and compliant environment, fostering continuous improvement and accountability across our organization. Duties Conduct detailed inspections of Above ground and Underground fuel systems for regulatory compliance per state guidelines. Test tank monitoring systems and associated sensors verify alarm/sensor history and proper function. Inspect and test fuel dispensing equipment for function and deficiencies, notating both in electronic inspection program. Maintain integrity and accuracy of inspection results electronically for each inspection or service. Identify deficiencies in compliance and make necessary recommendations for returning the system to proper function and compliance with state and federal regulations. Perform precision line testing utilizing the Petro-Tite line testing system and accurately record resulting data. Verify the proper function of mechanical and electronic line/leak detectors. Inspect and test secondary containment such as Piping Sumps, Dispenser Sumps, Spill and Vapor buckets, Transition sumps, and diking for structural integrity and verify free of any product, water and debris. Inspect and ensure all containment areas are dry and remove all product, water and/or debris found in containment areas associated with the fuel system. Identify proper function of each fuel system assigned and perform repairs as needed. Maintain provided vehicle and all equipment/tools to ensure professional appearance, inventory integrity, and safety. Pull fuel quality samples from above and underground fuel systems to identify conditions requiring tank cleaning such as free water, suspended water, microbial growth and phase separation. Assist with fuel tank cleaning utilizing provided equipment Participate in fuel system decommissionings, spill bucket replacements, testing, and installs. Maintain service needs to the provided service vehicle such as oil changes, tire rotations, and repairs. Requirements Familiarity with hand tools such as wrenches, ratchets, screw drivers, pipe wrenches, various saws, etc. Ability to read and operate an electrical meter for diagnosing electrical issues. Ability to maintain and operate fuel tank cleaning machine and associated equipment. Availability for travel and overnight stays as need arises, these are normally planned trips but occasionally for emergency situations. Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted and up to 80lbs assisted by a partner. Ability to stand, kneel, and work in areas with tight conditions or from heights with appropriate safety gear/equipment. Self-starter, able to pivot as needs change and prioritize services appropriately. Integrity in all aspects of daily operations; time management, inspections, expenses, etc. Experience/Certifications Gasboy/Wayne Fleet dispenser knowledge/troubleshooting/repair Petro-Tite line test certification or ability to obtain within 6 months Veeder-Root Installer/Technician preferred.
