The Vending Service Technician (VST) has a critical role in maintaining the efficient operation of all vending machines. As the VST does come into direct contact with customers, the VST must consistently project a positive image of the company while concurrently building and maintaining excellent client relationships. Prompt and courteous service by technicians is essential to maintaining high levels of customer confidence in the ability of TVC to respond to their needs in an expedited and efficient manner.Job Summary:
The Vending Service Technician is responsible for ensuring all vending equipment is maintained, repaired, and fully operational 24/7, and is also responsible for the documentation of repairs and the reporting maintenance outcomes to vending managers in a timely manner.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver, install, and set up vending machines at client locations. Configure machines for different products (beverages, snacks, etc.). Calibrate and test machines to ensure functionality. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues. Replace faulty components such as motors, coin mechanisms, sensors, and compressors. Clean machines internally and externally to ensure hygiene and presentation standards. Respond to service calls and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. Troubleshoot issues like coin jams, product jams, and power problems. Provide basic training to clients on machine operations and maintenance if needed. Maintain accurate service logs, including repairs, parts used, and machine performance. Report any recurring issues or potential upgrades needed. Use route management or mobile inventory systems, if applicable. Follow safety guidelines while transporting and servicing machines. Ensure machines comply with local health and vending regulations.Note:
Additional duties/responsibilities may at a later date may be required by the vending service manager; however, they will be reviewed in advance by the Director of Vending with the manager and technician prior to implementation.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required (or the ability to acquire), technical training or certification a plus. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Basic plumbing or refrigeration knowledge (for cold beverage machines). Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. Ability to lift and move heavy machines weighing up to 1000 lbs.+/- with approved lifting equipment (pallet jack etc.) while following safety protocols. Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, twist, and reach forward as well as overhead on a regular basis. Unassisted be able to lift up to 90 lbs.+/- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Valid driver's license, DOT endorsement, and a willingness to travel between sites as needed. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening assessment. Must have initiative and the ability to work efficiently and at a high standard of performance with minimal supervision. Must be able to pass client security badging protocols.Work Environment:
Combination of warehouse, office, and on-site environments. Primary work will involve a combination of working in the field and working in the warehouse. Business casual dress, unless directed otherwise by the vending director. Some evening or weekend work may be required for emergency repairs or installations .
