Job Description
Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks relating to installation, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC systems and refrigeration units across the campus. Duties include diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and performing tasks such as cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems.
Work Schedule:
Mon- Thurs 6:30am
- 4:00 pm with a 45-minute lunch and Fri 6:30 am
- 11:30 am
Hourly Rate:
$21.05 EXAMS, LICENSE, ANDSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course Appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians (as required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990). Southeastern requires a Type IV, Universal Certification. Please note that Southeastern will allow the candidate selected for the job up to 30 days to acquire the required certification. Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
