Job Description

CoolSys is hiring a Commercial Journeyman Refrigeration Technician to install, start up, and service commercial refrigeration systems for retail, commercial, and industrial customers. In this skilled field role, you'll troubleshoot racks, cases, and controls; perform preventive maintenance; and ensure safe, efficient operation of complex HVAC-R systems. You'll interpret schematics, document work clearly, and deliver customer-focused service while working within a safety-first, team-oriented culture that offers technical training and long-term career growth. Responsibilities Install, start up, and commission commercial refrigeration systems for retail and industrial customers Diagnose and repair rack, parallel, and stand-alone refrigeration equipment and controls Perform preventive maintenance, leak checks, and system performance tuning Interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and scopes of work to complete projects safely and on time Document work performed, maintain accurate service records, and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers Follow Cool Sys safety policies, industry codes, and environmental regulations for refrigerants and electrical work Mentor apprentices and collaborate with teammates to deliver reliable, customer-focused service Required Skills Commercial refrigeration systems Rack and parallel systems Scroll and screw compressors Electrical troubleshooting EPA refrigerant handling Brazing and piping Reading schematics and blueprints Refrigeration controls and EMSPreventive and corrective maintenance Use of HVAC-R diagnostic tools
