You do not need previous HVAC, refrigeration, or maintenance experience. We are more interested in finding someone with a good attitude, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to learn. You will start by learning how to properly clean and maintain commercial ice machines at hospitals, restaurants, businesses, and other customer locations. The long-term goal is to train the right person into a commercial ice machine service technician. This is intended to be more than just a cleaning job. For someone who wants to learn, there is an opportunity to build a career in commercial refrigeration and equipment service. What You'll Do Clean and sanitize commercial ice machines Learn to safely disassemble and reassemble equipment Travel to customer locations throughout the Dayton area Follow cleaning and maintenance procedures Communicate professionally with customers Document completed work Learn basic mechanical and refrigeration concepts Assist experienced technicians as your skills develop Eventually learn troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and refrigeration service What We're Looking For Valid driver's license Driving record acceptable for company vehicle use Reliable transportation to work Dependable and able to show up on time Comfortable working with tools Comfortable doing dirty and physical work Willing to work around cleaning chemicals and commercial equipment Able to follow instructions and safety procedures Comfortable working independently once trained Professional around customers Willing to take feedback and learn Interested in developing a skilled trade No previous experience required. Mechanical experience, trade school, HVAC experience, maintenance experience, or experience working with tools is helpful but not required. Pay & Career PathTraining — $15/hour You will work alongside experienced employees while learning our equipment, cleaning procedures, safety standards, and customer expectations. Independent Cleaning Technician — $17/hour Once you demonstrate that you can safely and correctly complete cleaning routes independently, your pay increases to $17/hour. Technician Development Employees who show reliability, mechanical ability, and interest in advancing can begin training in: Ice machine troubleshooting Basic electrical diagnostics Refrigeration fundamentals Equipment installation Commercial service work EPA Section 608 certification Additional raises are available as skills and responsibilities increase. Our goal is to develop strong employees into commercial ice machine service technicians. The job involves slime, scale, food-service environments, cleaning chemicals, wet equipment, bending, kneeling, lifting, taking equipment apart, and putting it back together correctly.
