Scope of Responsibility :
The Service Technician is responsible for the installation, service, diagnostics, and repair of refrigeration, HVAC systems, and food service equipment. The technician will be expected to work on commercial food service equipment, coffee service machines, beverage equipment, and more. This role requires a focus on maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities:
Perform service calls for refrigeration, HVAC, and food service equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs. Complete assigned tasks and service calls on a daily basis while ensuring quality workmanship. Participate in the on-call duty rotation, including nights and weekends. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Represent the company in a professional and polite manner when interacting with customers. Train and develop entry-level helpers to enhance team performance. Maintain up-to-date and accurate time cards for all work performed. Perform equipment start-ups when required, including installation, testing, and customer demonstrations. Troubleshoot and resolve technical situations, ensuring minimal downtime and callbacks. Manage job costs by limiting un-billable hours and controlling expenses. Keep a professional and clean work appearance at all times.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and potential electrical hazards in damp, humid, or freezing environments. Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and other high places. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service. Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record. Willingness and ability to participate in the emergency on-call rotation (including nights and weekends). Availability for occasional overnight travel as required. Immigration sponsorship is not provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications (e.g., EPA, CFESA). Experience with commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with electronic control troubleshooting. Experience with espresso machine equipment service and repair is a plus. Experience with beverage and coffee service equipment is a plus. Water purification equipment service experience is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
Service and maintain commercial food service equipment, coffee service equipment, and other beverage machines. Perform new equipment installations, start-up, and demonstrations for food service and beverage equipment
