We specialize in commercial refrigeration, commercial HVAC, ice machines, and hot-side commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, commercial kitchens, facilities, and businesses throughout Upstate South Carolina. This is not an entry-level position and is not a residential HVAC position. The $30-$40/hour compensation range is intended for an experienced technician with at least five years of hands-on commercial refrigeration service experience who can independently diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration equipment. We're looking for someone who knows how to diagnose—not guess. What You'll Work On Our technicians service a broad range of commercial equipment, including: Walk-in coolers and freezers Reach-in refrigerators and freezers Prep tables and undercounter refrigeration Condensing units and evaporators Compressors and refrigeration components Refrigeration controls Electrical and control systems Refrigerant leaks and system repairs Ice machines Commercial HVAC systems Rooftop units Commercial kitchen equipment Hot-side cooking equipment Preventative maintenance Emergency refrigeration and HVAC service You don't need to know every manufacturer or every piece of equipment ever made. You do need a strong commercial refrigeration foundation, the ability to troubleshoot systematically, the willingness to use technical literature and manufacturer resources, and the judgment to ask for another set of eyes when needed rather than guessing. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, you should have: At least 5 years of hands-on commercial refrigeration service experience Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration systems Strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle and system operation Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting ability Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Experience diagnosing equipment such as walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, condensing units, evaporators, compressors, and related commercial refrigeration equipment EPA Section 608 certification Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule Ability to travel throughout Upstate South Carolina based on daily service needs Professional customer-service and communication skills Ability to complete accurate service documentation and communicate what is needed for parts, estimates, and return visits Highly Valued Experience In addition to commercial refrigeration, experience with any of the following is highly desirable: Commercial HVAC Rooftop Units Ice Machines Hot-Side/Commercial Kitchen Equipment Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting Manufacturer Training CFESA Training or Certification Commercial refrigeration is the foundation of this position. We don't expect every candidate to be an expert in every other category. Schedule — Choose 4 or 5 Days We recognize that experienced technicians have lives and families outside of work. That's why we offer qualified technicians the choice of a 4-day or 5-day workweek , based on an agreed-upon schedule and the operational needs of the position. Because we service commercial refrigeration and HVAC, equipment doesn't always fail during normal business hours. Technicians participate in a shared on-call rotation , so emergency responsibility is distributed across the service team rather than continuously falling on one technician. Take Your Van Home & Dispatch From Home We don't believe you should have to drive to a shop every morning simply to pick up a service vehicle and turn around again. You'll receive a company service van that you take home and generally dispatch directly from home to your first service call. We also provide up to four hours of paid commute time per week , in accordance with company travel-time policy. Your daily route is coordinated based on customer needs, emergency priority, geography, and efficient dispatching. Service Area We are particularly interested in technicians located in or around the Greenville-Anderson corridor , including Anderson, Greenville, Piedmont, Powdersville, Easley, Williamston, and surrounding communities. This position will primarily strengthen our coverage in the Greenville-Anderson portion of the Upstate; however, this is not a fixed territory position. Our technicians serve customers throughout Upstate South Carolina, and daily routes are based on service demand. There will be days when service calls require travel into Spartanburg or other surrounding Upstate communities. Because technicians take their company vans home and dispatch directly from home, we're particularly interested in finding someone whose home base naturally complements our existing coverage. $3,000 First-Year Retention Bonus We're looking for someone who wants to become part of the team and grow with the company.
