Day Shift Refrigeration Mechanic Bongards Creameries Inc. paid time off, 401(k), profit sharing United States, Tennessee, Humboldt Sep 15, 2026

Description Job Summary:

Bongards' Creameries is seeking a Day Shift Refrigeration Mechanic based out of our Humboldt facility. The refrigeration mechanic will perform work not limited to: pipefitting, insulation, repairing / replacing malfunctioning parts, troubleshooting the ammonia system, all associated equipment as well as troubleshooting, repairing cheese-making machinery and related systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect and test equipment to diagnose problem(s)

Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned facility related equipment according to schedule

Disassemble defective equipment to find root cause

Studies blueprints to determine configuration of cooling equipment

Install new or refurbished part(s) and coordinate subcontractor activities

Repair or replace components for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, refrigeration equipment

Record repairs done and inventory parts used

Inspects and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications

Must report all Food Safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or designated replacement

Must be comfortable to work indoor/outdoor, cold/warm environments, crawl spaces and elevated areas

Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

RETA Certification preferred

Previous experience with Ammonia systems is preferred

Excellent Math and Reading skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

Previous maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred

Must adhere to and follow all Safety, OSHA, GMP, other quality guidelines and regulations

Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement

Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs

Must be able to wear a respirator

Ability to spend long periods of time standing

Schedule:

Rotating 2/3/2 Schedule on days 6a-6p
