Full Job Description Position Overview:
Guardian Care Maintenance is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC/R Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical systems, and will uphold the values of integrity, quality craftsmanship, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional interpersonal abilities Advanced knowledge of HVAC/R systems, including air conditioning, heating, electrical, and refrigeration components Proficient in interpreting schematics, blueprints, and work plans Skilled in using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team Reliable, consistent, and committed to delivering high-quality work Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and integrity Basic technology proficiency for communication and documentation using iPads, smartphones, or computers
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 4 years of recent HVAC/R field experience Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required Willingness to travel to various job sites on a daily basis
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and technical expertise Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, including reach-in coolers/freezers, walk-ins, beverage dispensers, and rack systems Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic components of refrigeration systems Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and manufacturer specifications Accurately document all service activities and parts used via company-provided mobile apps (cell phone and/or iPad) Communicate effectively with dispatch to maintain schedules and inform customers of any delays Rotate on-call availability for nights and weekends to support emergency service needs Maintain cleanliness and organization of company-provided vehicle, ensuring weekly washes and proper stocking of tools, parts, and safety equipment Travel to assigned job sites as required Identify and report additional service opportunities to management Follow all EPA guidelines regarding refrigerant handling and disposal Participate in company-provided training and development Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in commercial refrigeration service High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Industry certifications and/or licenses required (EPA 608 or equivalent) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to climb, lift up to 100 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks Comfortable working independently and in a team environment Availability for overtime, weekends, and travel as needed Strong communication and customer service skills Proficiency with mobile technology for documentation and communication
