CoolSys is seeking a Refrigeration Installation Journeyman to install, start up, and commission commercial and industrial HVAC-R systems for retail, commercial, and industrial clients. In this hands-on, field-based role, you'll interpret blueprints, braze and pipe refrigeration systems, wire controls, evacuate and charge systems, and verify performance while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Install commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC-R systems per plans and specs Braise, pipe, and pressure-test linesets and refrigeration piping Wire and terminate electrical components, controls, and equipment Perform refrigerant evacuation, charging, and startup of new systems Complete system checkouts, commissioning, and performance verification Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate solutions with supervisors Follow all Cool Sys and OSHA safety procedures and documentation standards Collaborate with apprentices, journeymen, and project managers on site Maintain tools, materials, and jobsite cleanliness Provide customer-focused, professional communication on every project Required Skills Commercial refrigeration installation HVAC-R systems knowledge Brazing and soldering Piping layout and installation Electrical wiring and controls Reading blueprints and schematics Startup and commissioning of systems Refrigerant handling and charging Use of refrigeration tools and gauges Safety and OSHA compliance
