Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commercial Refrigeration & Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of commercial refrigeration systems and equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various commercial properties. Duties Install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration units, HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within refrigeration and HVAC equipment to identify faults quickly and accurately. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Utilize hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to repair or replace mechanical components. Diagnose complex issues involving all types of refrigeration systems and implement effective solutions promptly. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to facilitate accurate installation and repairs. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and maintenance documentation for all work performed. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards. Assist in the installation of commercial kitchen equipment, commercial refrigeration systems and components including electrical and plumbing as needed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, repairs needed, and maintenance recommendations. Skills Proven experience in construction or property maintenance environments with a focus on commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems. Strong service technician background with hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Knowledge of HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments essential for equipment repair. Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration cycles including all types of refrigeration systems Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams accurately for installation or troubleshooting purposes. Experience with HVAC systems, maintenance procedures including air conditioning units Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients at all levels of understanding. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in welding or appliance repair are advantageous.
