Install and Repair Field Technician Department:
Operations Reports to:Director of Sales, and Operations Position Overview:
The Install & Repair Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and commercial internet services. This role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while representing SPITwSPOTS professionally in the field. Technicians travel daily to customer locations to complete installations, diagnose connectivity issues, and ensure customers receive reliable internet service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install residential and commercial internet equipment and services. Diagnose and resolve internet connectivity, hardware, and network issues. Perform service calls, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs. Configure routers, wireless equipment, and customer-premise devices. Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards. Accurately document completed work, equipment used, and service notes. Communicate job status and updates with Dispatch and the Network Operations team. Educate customers on equipment operation and answer basic service questions. Maintain company-issued vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean working condition. Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple service calls throughout the day. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing procedures. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Education, Experience and Certifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be eligible for coverage under the company vehicle insurance policy. Previous telecommunications, ISP, networking, cable, satellite, or low-voltage installation experience preferred but not required. Basic computer and mobile device proficiency. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Key Work Relationships Must demonstrate professionalism when representing the company to internal and external contacts Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and other company personnel Must treat all people with courtesy and respect Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable climbing ladders, working in crawl spaces, and performing physical tasks throughout the day.Supervisory Functions:
