Job Description
Job Overview As an In-Home Repair Technician, you will be responsible for assessing and performing repairs to merchandise within a customer's home. Repairs may include minor wood/leather/upholstery repair, cushion core replacement, part replacement, and mechanism replacement. Full-time, hourly position Job Responsibilities & Duties Typical duties include but are not limited to: Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness. Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations. Replace damaged and/or missing parts. Identify and read invoices/service orders and UPC labels to ensure invoices are complete. Assessing damages and choose appropriate methods of repair for wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery. Maintain a neat and safe work environment. Wood repairs, including burn-ins & wood graining. Leather repairs, including scuffs, holes and tears. Upholstery repairs, including structural/mechanism replacements. Ability to represent AFW in a professional manner inside the customer's home. Demonstrate high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times. Possess excellent organizational skills. Color matching & blending. Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Other duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Job Requirements Preferably has 1+ years of experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric & upholstery. Must have valid driver's license. Clean MVR record, 2 or less moving violations in the past 3 years preferred. Experience using power tools. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPads. Ability to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric & upholstery. Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
