Phoenix, AZ — I-17 & Buckeye Rd area
Pay:
$28.00-$35.00 per hour We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-focused Service Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, highway trucks, forklifts, and water trucks. This position plays a critical role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operating efficiently while minimizing downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles, including highway trucks, forklifts, and water trucks Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using diagnostic tools and software, including Cummins
INSITE, CAT
ET, Paccar, Bendix, and Allison Repair or replace faulty components, including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and electrical components Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used Work closely with team members to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies Order parts and supplies required for repairs and maintenance Test and inspect repaired equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to service Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service shop environment
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Service Technician, or in a similar position Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical components Experience working on highway trucks, forklifts, water trucks, or similar heavy equipment Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports Experience with Cummins
INSITE, CAT
ET, Paccar, Bendix, and Allison diagnostic systems preferred Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail Heavy equipment repair certification or technical training highly desirable Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in physically demanding and fast-paced environments Strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
