Manufacturing Full Job Description Service Technician Location:
Los Angeles, CA area Schwing Bioset is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, and long-term maintenance of industrial wastewater equipment at wastewater treatment facilities. The successful candidate will travel nationwide by air weekly (Monday-Friday) have a background as an Industrial Mechanic, Millwright, Mechanical Installer, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Pipefitter, Construction Equipment Technician, or Industrial Maintenance Technician and enjoys both installing new equipment and maintaining existing systems. This is a salaried, non-hourly position with significant nationwide travel. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with employees generally flying out Monday morning and returning home Friday evening. A company credit card is provided for approved business travel expenses, including meals, so employees are not required to follow a daily per diem allowance. What You'll Do Assist with the installation, assembly, alignment, and commissioning of industrial wastewater processing equipment. Install pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, piping, valves, and other mechanical equipment. Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and installation plans. Perform preventive maintenance on industrial wastewater equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with system diagnostics. Inspect equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Perform equipment modifications, upgrades, and repairs. Use rigging equipment, hoists, and precision measuring tools to safely install and align equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance and service records. Communicate effectively with customer personnel regarding equipment status, repairs, installation progress, and maintenance recommendations. Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures. What We're Looking For Experience in construction, industrial installation, mechanical contracting, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or wastewater facilities is required. Previous experience as an Industrial Mechanic, Millwright, Mechanical Installer, Pipefitter, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Field Service Technician, Construction Equipment Technician, or Maintenance Mechanic is highly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience assembling and installing heavy industrial equipment. Experience with pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, piping, rotating equipment, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial electrical systems. Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical diagnostic equipment. Welding, fabrication, rigging, equipment alignment, and industrial construction experience are highly desirable. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. OSHA safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
Relocation Assistance:
