Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining guest and dealership vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and dealership quality standards. This role ensures vehicles are serviced efficiently and safely while delivering high-quality workmanship and supporting overall guest satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools, equipment, and technical resources. Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and fluid replacements. Repair and service vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, and HVAC components. Accurately document all work performed on repair orders. Communicate findings, repair needs, and recommendations to Service Advisors or Shop Foreman. Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical service bulletins, and warranty guidelines. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. Adhere to all dealership safety policies and OSHA regulations. Participate in ongoing training and certification programs as required. Ensure all repairs meet quality standards before vehicle release. Assist with additional service department tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills. Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools. Good problem-solving and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to follow technical instructions accurately. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. ASE certifications preferred. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of automotive technical or vocational training preferred. Minimum 2-5 years of automotive repair experience preferred. Manufacturer training or certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequent use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools. Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions. Manual dexterity required for precision mechanical work. Work Environment Work is performed in an automotive service shop with exposure to vehicle noise, exhaust fumes, chemicals, and moving equipment in a fast-paced environment.
