Job description Fire Technician (All Services) Are you cross-trained on both fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems? Group One Safety & Security is hiring a Fire Technician (All Services) — our top technician role — for candidates who can handle the full scope of fire protection work. If you've got the range to install, inspect, test, and repair both alarm/detection and sprinkler systems, we'll pay for that versatility. What You'll Do
  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and detection systems — including smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide detectors — as well as fire sprinkler systems, per NFPA and local codes.
  • Install fire sprinkler systems per project plans and blueprints; assemble and secure pipes, valves, and fittings; connect components to water supply lines and suppression equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across both alarm/detection and sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct service calls, system tests, and repairs, documenting deficiencies found during inspections.
  • Program and validate operating systems to customer specifications using manufacturer's codes.
  • Provide excellent client service and respond to service calls in a timely manner.
  • Train less experienced technicians and clients as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain accurate service and time records. What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm/detection systems and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Familiarity with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam sprinkler systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes (including
NFPA 25 & 72
) and local safety regulations.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to operate common tools of the trade including a pipe threading machine, plus test equipment such as multimeters, battery analyzers, frequency meters, and decibel meters.
  • Licensing and/or certificates required in the life safety industry (e.g., FASA/BASA, Testing and Inspecting of Fire Alarm Systems); must be able to obtain NICET certification over time.
  • Must be able to work safely in high areas, including man lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with at least two years of driving experience.
  • Physical stamina for strenuous work, including lifting pipe and equipment up to 100 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. What We Offer

  • Ongoing training and professional development, including support toward NICET certification Physical and Mental Demands Requires constant (67%-100%) bending; reaching; stooping; pushing; pulling; grasping; standing; climbing tall heights; twisting; and lifting/carrying heavy pipe, equipment, and tools (up to 100 lbs unassisted).
Requires occasional (0-33%) sitting and driving. Must possess stamina to perform physical labor for extended periods of time. Requires constant mental alertness, corrected vision, and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to communicate clearly and drive a vehicle. Must possess excellent hand-eye and gross motor coordination, plus manual dexterity. Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment. This description may not be all-inclusive and employees are expected to perform all other duties as assigned and directed by management. Position descriptions and duties may be modified whenever deemed appropriate by management. Pay based on experience.
