Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and reliable Service Technician to join our pest control team. This position is responsible for providing professional pest management services, performing rodent exclusions, completing minor handyman repairs, and delivering lawn and ornamental treatments. The ideal candidate will have experience in pest control and general maintenance, with strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities Pest Control Services Inspect residential and commercial properties to identify pest activity, entry points, and conducive conditions. Apply pest control treatments in accordance with company protocols and state regulations. Maintain accurate service records, including chemicals used, treatments performed, and customer recommendations. Educate customers on treatment plans, prevention strategies, and ongoing care. Rodent Exclusions Perform exclusion work such as sealing gaps, repairing soffits, and installing rodent-proof barriers; must be comfortable working on rooftops. Safely set, monitor, and remove traps as needed. Inspect attics, crawlspaces, and other difficult areas for rodent activity. Handyman & Minor Repairs Complete minor repair tasks related to pest prevention, including caulking, patching, screen replacement, and light carpentry. Safely operate hand tools and power tools to complete exclusion and repair jobs. Lawn & Ornamental Services Inspect lawns and ornamentals for pests, weeds, and diseases. Apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides as directed. Provide guidance to customers on lawn and landscape health practices. Customer Service & Communication Deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication, professionalism, and responsiveness. Address customer questions and concerns while explaining treatment outcomes and preventive measures. Build and maintain long-term customer relationships. Equipment & Safety Maintain and calibrate service equipment, including sprayers, traps, and lawn application tools. Adhere to all company safety policies, state regulations, and chemical handling procedures. Keep service vehicle organized, stocked, and in safe working order. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (required). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required). Prior experience in pest control, lawn care, or general maintenance/handyman work (preferred). Knowledge of pest biology, treatment methods, and exclusion techniques (preferred). Physical ability to climb ladders/extension ladders, access crawlspaces, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying conditions. Strong communication and customer service skills. Willingness to obtain and maintain required state pest control licenses/certifications. Skills & Competencies Problem-solving and critical thinking. Attention to detail and thoroughness in inspections. Safe and efficient use of tools, equipment, and chemicals. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist where needed. Work Environment Field-based role with daily travel to customer locations.
