Job Description

Our client, a local City, is seeking a dependable Public Works Technician to maintain parks, facilities, athletic fields, and City grounds. This is an immediate-opening, temp-to-hire opportunity offering outstanding benefits upon full-time hire.
Pay and schedule:
Starting at $19.21-$22.57/hour, depending on experience. Occasional weekend, holiday, on-call, and special-event availability is required. What you'll do: Clean and maintain parks, shelters, playgrounds, restrooms, athletic fields, and City grounds Mow, trim, edge, plant, prune, weed, rake, and perform seasonal snow removal Clear debris from trails, roadsides, pathways, and City property Assist with irrigation monitoring, adjustments, and repairs Prepare athletic fields and assist with community-event setup and teardown Complete basic maintenance on facilities, equipment, and vehicles Safely operate tools and landscaping equipment Assist members of the public professionally Follow all City policies and workplace safety procedures Perform other related duties as assigned What you'll need: Must be at least 21 years old to operate City vehicles Valid Idaho driver's license with a good driving record High school diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of landscaping, tools, and general maintenance Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather and on uneven ground Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds Strong customer-service, communication, and teamwork skills Availability for occasional weekends, holidays, on-call work, and special events Relevant experience, mechanical knowledge, or equipment-operation experience is preferred Ability to pass a background check
Pay:
$19.21 - $22.57 per hour
