Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Position Summary Uniflex of America LLC, a growing European manufacturer of machinery for the hydraulic hose assembly industry, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Technician to join our team in Schaumburg, Illinois. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working directly with customers. The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, commissioning, and maintaining Uniflex equipment both at customer locations and within our Service Department. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical controls, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment independently. This role requires regular interaction with customers, internal departments, and our technical team in Germany. Job Responsibilities Work safely both on-site and in our Service Department. Perform field service repairs, machine commissioning, and customer training throughout North America. Travel may be approximately 25-50%. Troubleshoot and repair machines returned to our Service Department in a timely manner. Prepare customer quotations for field service, preventative maintenance, and customer training. Assist the Sales team with customer visits to our showroom. Complete field service reports and document work with photos when required. Work with our technical team in Germany to resolve technical issues as needed. Maintain a clean and orderly Service Department. Represent the values and professionalism of Uniflex of America. Assist Sales with preparing quotations for spare parts. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve internal and external efficiencies. Assist with other service-related responsibilities as needed. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of machine repair or similar hands-on technical experience. Strong mechanical aptitude. Working knowledge of hydraulic pumps, valves, hydraulic logic, and fluid power. Working knowledge of electrical controls and mid-level electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read fluid power and electrical schematics. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to travel up to 50%. Valid driver's license and passport. Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Degree or technical education in Mechanical or Electrical Technology or a related field. Computer and equipment networking skills or knowledge.
