Shop Service Technician Intern Summary:
The Shop Service Technician Intern is an entry-level, hands-on learning position designed for students currently enrolled in a diesel technology, heavy equipment technology, agricultural mechanics, or related technical program.Responsibilities:
Work alongside experienced Shop Service Technicians to gain practical experience in the inspection, maintenance, service, and repair of heavy construction equipment Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks under supervision, including lubrication and greasing, fluid and filter checks, battery inspection and maintenance, basic equipment inspections Assist technicians with disassembly and reassembly of equipment Learn to identify and properly use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and shop equipment Assist with basic troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Learn to read and understand equipment service manuals, schematics and technical documentation Assist with hydraulic hose replacements Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and repair under supervision Assist with equipment inspections and documenting service findings Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Learn and follow manufacturer service and repair procedures Maintain accurate records of work performed as directedRequirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training Minimum of 1+ years of experience servicing and maintenance of construction equipment Embraces and promotes a safe operating culture Positive, self-starter who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistent quality Reliable and committed to delivering quality performanceBenefits
