The organization continues to expand its product offerings and production capabilities, providing innovative packaging and automation solutions to customers across the region. They are seeking an energetic, hands-on Field Service Engineer/Technician to support continued growth throughout Greater Indianapolis and possibly all of Indiana. This individual will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support a variety of industrial packaging equipment while working closely with customers, sales professionals, technical teams, and manufacturing partners. This role offers significant autonomy and is ideal for a dependable self-starter who enjoys solving technical problems, building customer relationships, and managing regional service responsibilities with limited supervision. Key Position Highlights Primarily first-shift, Monday-Friday schedule Regional service territory throughout Greater Atlanta Limited overnight travel, generally one to two trips per month Salaried position with comprehensive benefits Company vehicle, tools, and necessary equipment provided High level of independence and ownership over the workweek Opportunity to support a growing packaging equipment and automation business Key Responsibilities Install, set up, test, and commission industrial packaging equipment at customer facilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and controls-related equipment issues Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and after-sales technical support Support equipment demonstrations at customer locations and internal facilities Train customers on equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and proper maintenance Partner with sales and technical teams throughout the demonstration, installation, and post-installation process Collaborate with manufacturing partners on semi-automated and fully automated packaging systems Assist with the integration of conveyors and related production-line components Perform light fabrication and modify equipment components for customized installations Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate project updates to customers and internal teams Manage multiple installations, service calls, and technical projects simultaneously Qualifications At least five years of experience in a hands-on technical, industrial maintenance, or field service position Experience installing, servicing, repairing, or demonstrating industrial machinery Strong mechanical aptitude with basic fabrication skills, including cutting, drilling, and component modification Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and basic equipment programming Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals Experience troubleshooting equipment and providing after-sales service Strong verbal communication and customer-facing skills Experience training customers, employees, or coworkers on equipment operation Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and manage multiple projects effectively Willingness to work occasional extended hours when customer or project needs require it Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a good driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience with automated packaging or material-handling systems Exposure to system design, technical sales, or equipment integration Familiarity with multiple types of packaging and end-of-line equipment This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization known for its strong culture, technical capabilities, and customer commitment.
