Job Description

Service Technician / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer required to join a leading industrial air compressor distributor covering Indianapolis, IN and surrounding areas (within approx. 1 hour radius). The Successful Service Technician / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, validation, and testing of industrial air compressor systems and associated equipment within industrial and manufacturing environments. The Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer will ideally have a field service background in servicing industrial air compressors, rotary screw systems, centrifugal compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, dryers, filtration, or similar compressed air downstream equipment. Package $30 - $40 per hour (higher end for experienced compressor technicians) Overtime payments available Local territory and home-based field coverage Company vehicle provided On-call bonus + overtime structure Full benefits package (TBC at offer stage) Service Technician / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer Role To provide electrical and mechanical repair, service and maintenance of industrial compressed air products, systems and solutions at customer sites across the Indianapolis region. The Compressor Service Engineer will undertake planned and preventative maintenance, commissioning, diagnostics, fault finding of various compressed air systems and downstream equipment. Maintain, repair, install, validation & testing of compressor systems including air compressors, blowers, dryers, condensate systems, filtration and associated air treatment technologies. Identify and provide customers with recommendations for system improvements, upgrades, efficiency improvements, and general aftercare support across compressor installations. Liaise with internal engineering, service coordination, and technical support teams to ensure effective delivery of service work. Manufacturer training provided. Based in Indianapolis, IN, covering the surrounding local area. Service Technician / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer Requirements Proven diagnostic skills on complex mechanical and electrical systems. Experience as a Field Service Engineer / Service Engineer / Service Technician / Installation Engineer / Compressor Engineer or similar. Strong background in industrial air compressors or closely related compressed air systems (preferred). Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, vacuum systems, blowers, or industrial mechanical equipment will be considered. Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Ability to build strong working relationships with customers in the field. EPA certification or similar technical qualifications beneficial but not essential. Must be based in or near Indianapolis, IN and comfortable covering the local territory.

$25.35 - $40.00 per hour
