Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optical Technician/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while managing front desk operations. This energetic position combines clinical responsibilities with administrative duties, ensuring smooth clinic flow and a positive patient experience. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing friendly service, scheduling appointments, and assisting with ophthalmic examinations and medical equipment operation. Your expertise in medical terminology, ophthalmology procedures, and patient confidentiality will contribute to our commitment to high-quality eye care. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and manage intake processes in accordance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Perform vital signs measurements and assist with ophthalmic patient examinations including eye refraction, tonometry, A-scan ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging procedures Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as tonometers and ophthalmic imaging devices with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques Maintain electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately, including documentation of patient histories, test results, and clinical notes Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing medical equipment, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and guiding patients through their visit process Assist with retail sales of optical products when applicable, applying retail math skills to ensure accurate transactions and inventory management Experience Prior medical office experience with a focus on ophthalmology or optometry is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye anatomy and physiology is essential Hands-on experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as A-scan ultrasound devices and tonometers is a plus Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems for documenting patient information efficiently Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times Experience in direct patient care roles involving intake assessments, vital signs collection, and ophthalmic examinations Retail sales experience combined with strong customer service skills enhances the ability to support optical product sales effectively Join us to make a difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and professional excellence!

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
