The Town of Chesapeake Beach is a coastal municipality, of approximately 6,000 residents, seeking a Public Works Technician capable of performing a variety of duties related to the maintenance and repair of the Towns water supply transmission and distribution system. The Town's Department of Public Works provides a strong team centered working environment with the ability to offer on the job training to a self starter with a strong work ethic. Ability for growth within the role for candidates who have established experience in the field or demonstrate a strong ability to further serve the Town citizen's public works infrastructure. The Town of Chesapeake Beach Public Works staff monitor pump stations, water tanks and metering equipment. The Public Works team routinely inspects critical infrastructure related to general improvements to public right‐of‐ways, earthwork, surfacing, surface restoration, water and sewer lines, manholes, storm drains, curb, gutter, waterways, sidewalks, signs, parks, etc. Five years experience in water and sewer utility work preferred; however, the Town is willing to train the right candidate with mechanical and/or construction experience. The Town is seeking an employee that is self motivated, places a high importance on safe practices while working, serves as a vital team member, and has the ability and motivation to be upwardly mobile within the organization. Employee will be required to cover emergency weekend hours and on-call hours.
