Job Description

HVAC Field Service Technician Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Field Service Technician to join our team. The HVAC Field Service Technician will travel to job sites to diagnose, repair, maintain, test, and start up HVAC systems. This position will also assist with new system start-ups, equipment commissioning, system testing, and troubleshooting to ensure HVAC equipment is operating properly and according to manufacturer specifications. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Travel to job sites to perform HVAC service and troubleshooting. Diagnose and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. Service and repair HVAC equipment. Assist with start-up and commissioning of new HVAC systems . Perform equipment start-ups and verify proper system operation. Check electrical connections, voltage, amperage, controls, safeties, motors, compressors, and other system components. Check refrigerant pressures and system performance during start-up and service. Assist with equipment testing, balancing, adjustments, and operational checks as required. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, and control-system issues. Identify installation issues or equipment deficiencies during start-up and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor or project team. Work with installation crews, project managers, general contractors, and customers to complete successful system start-ups. Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service. Read and interpret HVAC drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Complete service tickets, start-up sheets, commissioning documentation, and work reports accurately. Explain system operation, deficiencies, and repair recommendations to customers and project personnel. Maintain service vehicle, tools, and test equipment. Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable HVAC and electrical codes. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area. Respond to emergency calls as required. Qualifications Previous experience as an HVAC Service Technician preferred. Experience with HVAC equipment start-up and commissioning preferred. Strong electrical, controls and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of chilled water systems, heating hot water systems, duct systems, natural gas systems, and compressed air. Knowledge of air conditioning, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, package units, and commercial HVAC equipment. Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment documentation. EPA 608 certification required or preferred, depending on position requirements. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and in mechanical rooms. Ability to work in various weather and job-site conditions.
Pay:
From $35.00 per hour
