Job Description

We are seeking a versatile Ophthalmic Technician with expertise in optical sales and vision plans to join our team. This dual clinical-and-optical role requires a tech-savvy professional.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Testing :
Perform pre-testing, visual acuity, tonometry, and advanced diagnostic imaging (OCT, visual fields and fundus photos).
Optical Sales :
Guide patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on their lifestyle and prescription.
Insurance Navigation :
Verify benefits, check eligibility, and accurately apply copays/allowances for major vision plans (e.g., VSP, EyeMed, and Spectera).
Patient Flow :
Manage daily patient flow efficiently, bridging the gap between the clinical lane and the optical boutique.
Qualifications & Skills Software :
Hands-on experience using RevolutionEHR (or strong experience with similar optical EHR systems).
Dual Expertise :
Proven experience working both clinical ophthalmic lanes and a retail optical retail setting.
Insurance Knowledge :
Solid understanding of vision insurance verification, optical codes, and billing structures.
Certifications :
COA, COT, or ABO are not required but recognized.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
