Mobile Heavy Equipment Repair Technician

Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific job requirements or repair needs. Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and maintenance tasks on diverse equipment types. Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols including air brake systems and heavy lifting procedures. Diagnose electrical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and interpret schematics for complex electrical systems within heavy equipment. Collaborate with service teams to complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records for each piece of equipment serviced. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with the work performed. Qualifications Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician specializing in heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and suspension components. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for OEM equipment such as Caterpillar or similar brands. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment during diagnostic or repair processes. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices including air brake systems, alignment procedures, tire service, and automotive diagnostics. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
