Job Description

Description Power Generation Service Technician | Ohio Cat Rental Store | A Division of Ohio Machinery Co. Reliable power doesn't happen by accident—it's built, maintained, and protected by skilled technicians. As a Power Generation Service Technician , you'll play a critical role in keeping large‑scale generator systems running for customers who depend on consistent, dependable power. This is hands‑on, technical work supporting standby and prime power applications across a wide range of industries. You'll work Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM . What You'll Do Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power generation equipment ranging from 500 kW to 2,000 kW Perform engine, mechanical, and electrical diagnostics on diesel generator systems Clean, recondition, overhaul, and rebuild generator engines and components Read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Determine parts reusability per manufacturer guidelines and initiate salvage or replacement requests Accurately complete service reports and documentation Perform all work safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of experience servicing power generation equipment, diesel engines, or related industrial systems Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on generator or engine rebuild experience Solid knowledge of DC electrical systems and machine electronic controls Ability to follow technical manuals, service procedures, and manufacturer updates Why Ohio Cat Work on large‑scale, mission‑critical power generation equipment Be part of a team that supports essential infrastructure and customer uptime Grow your skills with advanced equipment and experienced technicians Want to learn more?
