Job Description
About the Role As a Precision Machine Technician, you will play a vital role in transforming raw materials into high-quality metallic components. You will leverage your expertise in manual machining and technical blueprint interpretation to ensure every part meets exact specifications, directly impacting the efficiency and quality of our production output. Responsibilities Configure and operate conventional machinery, including manual lathes, to fabricate complex metallic parts. Analyze engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine optimal machining sequences and tolerances. Execute precision measurements using advanced metrology tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks. Calibrate machine settings—including feed rates, spindle speeds, and coolant flow—to maximize production accuracy. Perform comprehensive trial runs to verify setup integrity and part dimensions before full-scale production. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot machining challenges and refine fabrication processes. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure long-term operational reliability and safety. Required Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in a precision manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T standards. Demonstrated expertise in manual machining techniques and precision hand metrology. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering in industrial workspaces. Solid understanding of machine shop theory, shop mathematics, and material properties. Preferred Skills Prior experience working with stainless and tool steel alloys. Basic proficiency in editing CNC programs to support integrated production workflows. Proven track record in advanced inspection and gauge measurement techniques.
