Optician Job Description The Optical Lab Technician is responsible for fabricating eyewear on a daily basis and ensuring quality and standards are met. Optical Lab Technician Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions . Cuts, grinds, polishes and finishes lenses Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleanings, maintenance and minor repairs of equipment Assembles eyeglasses and use optical tools properly Performs equipment calibrations daily Inspect all eyewear to ensure flawless quality Manage workflow, adhering closely to job deadlines and keeping up with production Minimize breakage and material waste Notify lab manager of issues with equipment Adheres closely to safety standards and OSHA regulations Provide exceptional customer service
