Full-time, Monday-Friday Build, Repair, Test, and Stage Technology for New Restaurants RDS Southwest Hospitality is looking for a hands-on POS Equipment Staging & Repair Technician to join our Irving technology warehouse. This is a bench-based technical role for someone who enjoys taking equipment apart, finding out why it isn't working, repairing it, and making sure it is ready for use. You will help prepare the technology our partners use to open and operate restaurants. That includes configuring and testing POS terminals, computers, printers, tablets, payment-related peripherals, and other restaurant equipment. You will also diagnose and repair equipment returned from customer locations. This is not a cybersecurity, software development, or traditional office help-desk position. It is a hands-on hardware staging and repair role where attention to detail and curiosity matter. What You'll Do Stage complete technology packages for new restaurant openings Set up, configure, label, and test POS terminals, computers, printers, tablets, and peripherals Diagnose equipment that does not power on, connect, print, boot, or operate correctly Disassemble equipment and replace failed parts such as memory, storage drives, power supplies, cables, screens, and internal components Learn to troubleshoot and repair restaurant printers and specialized POS hardware Install Windows, device drivers, updates, and required restaurant software Follow staging checklists and verify that every component is configured correctly Perform final quality-control testing before equipment is shipped Record serial numbers, repair activity, test results, and parts used Clean and refurbish returned equipment for redeployment Pack completed systems carefully for shipment to restaurant locations Maintain an organized repair bench, parts area, and staging workspace Coordinate with the warehouse and deployment teams to meet restaurant opening deadlines What Makes Someone Successful in This Role You may be a strong fit if you: Enjoy figuring out how equipment works Are comfortable opening devices and replacing internal components Have the patience to troubleshoot a problem step by step Notice missing cables, incorrect labels, loose connections, and configuration errors Take pride in sending out equipment that is clean, complete, tested, and ready to work Are willing to learn unfamiliar printers, terminals, and restaurant technology Can follow a repeatable process without losing your curiosity Work well independently while asking questions when needed Required Qualifications Hands-on experience repairing, assembling, configuring, or refurbishing computers, electronics, printers, or similar equipment Working knowledge of computer components and Windows Ability to follow wiring diagrams, setup instructions, checklists, and troubleshooting procedures Careful documentation and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet when staging or moving equipment Reliable transportation to our Irving facility High school diploma or equivalent Professional repair experience is welcome, but we will also consider candidates who developed strong hands-on skills through technical school, military service, independent repair work, electronics projects, or serious personal experience.
