Job Description
To be considered, you MUST apply through Indeed. Please do not call the store — applications by phone will not be accepted. About Ocean To You Aquariums Ocean To You Aquariums is a premium saltwater aquarium retail and service company based in Sugar Land, TX. We service high-end reef systems across the Greater Houston area and operate a full retail storefront specializing in marine livestock, corals, and equipment. We take pride in doing things the right way — and we're looking for someone who does too. The Role Immediate start — we're hiring this week. Training begins right away alongside our current technician for a full route handoff. You'll be running service calls at client homes and businesses across the Houston area, maintaining saltwater and reef aquarium systems on scheduled routes — independently. After training, you'll own your route and work solo, so we need someone self-directed who doesn't need supervision to do detailed work. 30-40 hours/week. What You'll Be Doing Performing water changes, parameter testing, and equipment maintenance on saltwater and reef systems — solo, on your own route Identifying and treating disease, algae issues, and water chemistry problems Communicating professionally with clients in their homes Representing Ocean To You Aquariums on the road in a company-wrapped service van Documenting all service visits in our service software Reporting issues honestly and immediately, and maintaining detailed records per our SOPs Securing the vehicle, equipment, and premises at every stop — attention to detail is the job Requirements — Non-Negotiable Minimum 2 years hands-on saltwater/reef aquarium experience (hobbyist or professional). You should be comfortable identifying common corals, diagnosing water chemistry issues, and discussing reef husbandry confidently Able to start within days, not weeks Able to work independently with minimal supervision and full accountability Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record Reliable, punctual, and professional in client homes Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work (hauling water, moving equipment) Available Monday-Friday with rare weekend emergency availability (typically less than once per month) Background check and drug screen required This role is NOT a fit if: you've never kept a reef tank, you don't have reliable transportation to the store, you need constant direction, or you're looking for a desk-adjacent job. This is physical, detail-driven, hands-on work in client homes. Bonus Points Experience with SPS/LPS reef systems, dosing, and Apex controllers Familiarity with disease treatment protocols (copper, prazi, etc.) Prior professional aquarium service experience Compensation & Benefits $20.00/hour, with performance review at 90 days Overtime paid at 1.5x for 40+ hours Company vehicle provided for service calls Paid bi-weekly every other Friday Growth opportunity — long-term role with full ownership of your route Schedule Monday-Friday | 30-40 hours/week | Hours vary based on service schedule (generally 8 AM-4 PM) Location Sugar Land / Greater Houston area (40-mile service radius) How to Apply Apply through Indeed only. Interviews are being scheduled immediately — qualified applicants will hear back within 24 hours. Applications without a brief cover note explaining your saltwater aquarium experience will not be reviewed. Do not call the store.
