Description A small door company in the Virginia Beach area is seeking mechanically inclined individual eager to build a career in a friendly, fast-growing and team-oriented environment. This position entails the individual to perform daily mechanical repairs and installations to a variety of doors and openers both residential and commercial. This position is physically laborious and requires exceptional organization. Time-management skills are a must. Position also requires 'Ready to work good attitude' and flexibility. Some Weekend hours may be required as deemed necessary. Excellent Driving history is mandatory and will be reviewed upon consideration of candidate for this position. Duties (1) Repair and or Install Doors and Openers efficiently and safely. Duties may be independent or may requires working in conjunctions with other door mechanics as aptitude allows or the Job at hand requires. (2) Repair and or install all other products and services offered by Doors on Demand including but not limited to Dock Levelers, Shutter Doors, perform Fire Door Inspections, Rolling Steel, Sectional and Grille Gates. (3) Be prepared and adaptable to ensure job completion. This can include welding, fabrication and on the job modifications. (4) If a vehicle is provided it is the Mechanics duty to set up the vehicle and keep it stocked, clean and maintained. (5) Warehouse duties including but not limited to receiving and organizing shipments to warehouse facility, general inventory and cleaning warehouse duties, including, but not limited to, Job preparation including pulling and loading materials and door supplies. (6) Serving as general staff including cross training for operation as needed. (7) Identify and alert supervisor and obtain approval for custom assignments that require non-traditional applications. Actively seek guidance and direction from supervisors as needed. (8) Careful and dutiful attention to driving, towing and operating of all company equipment on and off site. Report any problems with equipment immediately. (9) Work towards quick resolutions of problems and quality control with all duties. (10) Work with other personnel, other departments and assist with other tasks as assigned and requested. (11) Work Safely and Efficiently!
