Job Description

Overview:
Telecommunications Mechanic II (BAFB-2026-26061): Bowhead seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II for the base telecommunications maintenance and support contract at Beale AFB, CA. We are pleased to accept resumes and applications from highly motivated individuals to join our team in support of the daily operations and ongoing projects at Beale AFB.
Responsibilities:
Essential functions will include: The administration, security, and maintenance of all services and assets related to the voice communication network Device and service configuration related to Cisco Unified Communications and Cisco VoIP devices Providing documentation and diagrams of voice systems Installation and testing of voice and data cabling such as Cat 6 and fiber optic indoors and outdoors Working in CIPS database to access and update work orders and EITASS system to access and update trouble tickets Assisting with all aspects of our continued migration from our current MSL-100 telephone switch to the Cisco Unified Communications system Future essential functions could include configuration of trunks, phones, gateways, call routing, user management, voice mail, conference calling, call transfer/call forwarding, Cisco VG 450 port configuration and UCCX call tree configuration/maintenance Cross connecting and testing analog lines from Cisco VG450's Responding to emergency work orders which on occasion could be called out at any time of day to include weekends and holidays. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School graduation or equivalent Years of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of IT experience, preferably with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity. Required skills or certifications
  • Must have CompTia security Plus. Prefered Cisco certification of CCNA or CCNP Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite
  • Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. Set Rate 40.74 an hour Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
