A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, electronics, telecommunications, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems), traffic systems, electrical systems, or a closely related technical field. Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience using hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Familiarity with computer networking, communications systems, or IP-based equipment is preferred. Organizational and documentation skills . Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Customer service and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and any applicable pre-employment screenings. Willingness to travel throughout Florida as business needs require. Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency service calls.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with traffic enforcement systems, ITS infrastructure, cameras, sensors, or roadway technology. Electrical, networking, or electronics certifications. Experience working with Linux- or Windows-based field devices. Knowledge of traffic signal systems, roadway infrastructure, or transportation technology.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and access roadside equipment safely. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, humidity, rain, cold, and other weather conditions. Ability to safely perform work adjacent to active roadways while following all applicable safety procedures. Must possess sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to inspect, test, repair, and calibrate equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct routine field inspections of traffic enforcement equipment to verify proper operation and accuracy. Perform equipment verification, calibration checks, and system testing according to established procedures. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, communications, electrical, and networking issues. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on field equipment. Document inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and test results using company reporting systems. Respond to service calls and equipment outages in a timely manner . Coordinate with internal technical teams to resolve complex issues. Verify proper camera alignment, sensor functionality, and image quality. Identify potential equipment failures before they impact operations. Maintain company vehicles, tools, testing equipment, and inventory. Follow all company safety policies, traffic control requirements, and applicable regulations while working in the field. Travel regularly throughout assigned service areas, with occasional overnight travel as needed. Lift, transport, and install equipment and materials while working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
