Description:

Project Overview Seeking entry-level telecom technicians to support the installation, maintenance, and expansion of fiber optic and copper telecommunications networks throughout Maui , Hawaii . This work supports ongoing network buildout efforts to connect residential and commercial customers to high-speed telecommunications services. Key Responsibilities Install and configure cable systems for internet, television, and telephone services. Place aerial and underground cable to connect customer locations. Install and maintain network infrastructure, including pedestals, handholes, vaults, and enclosures. Mark and label telecommunications facilities to support identification and troubleshooting. Assist with fiber optic splicing, testing, repairs, and maintenance activities. Perform general construction labor, including cable placement through trenching, plowing, and boring methods. Conduct signal testing, troubleshooting, and service verification to ensure network performance. Restore landscaping and work areas following project completion. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in an organized and operational condition. Complete required documentation and work records accurately. Support senior technicians and installers as needed. Provide professional customer service by explaining services, answering questions, and assisting with equipment use. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Basic understanding of fiber optic and copper telecommunications systems. Familiarity with cable installation tools and equipment, including fiber splicers, cleavers, strippers, and trenching equipment. Ability to troubleshoot network and service-related issues. Valid driver's license. Strong communication and customer service skills. Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. Willingness to learn new technologies, equipment, and installation methods. Ability to work on-call, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, lifting up to 50-80 lbs., digging, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to work at heights and around construction equipment and active job sites. Work Environment Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments. Exposure to noise, moving machinery, vehicles, electrical equipment, heights, heat, dust, fumes, and other construction-related conditions. Frequent use of close visual attention for reading plans, documentation, and electronic devices. Additional Information Opportunity to obtain a security clearance. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kahului, HI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
