Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing low-voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of communication, security, data, and telecommunications systems. Responsibilities Install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, Ethernet, and telecommunication systems. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure optimal data transmission performance. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute system setups and repairs. Conduct network installation tasks such as cable termination, network wiring (Cat5, Cat6), and equipment rack setup in data centers or communication rooms. Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment to identify issues and perform precise repairs on electrical and networking components. Troubleshoot equipment failures related to Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, VoIP configurations, and computer hardware. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems (AC/DC) and ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions and resolving technical issues efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, and system configurations for future reference. Adhere to safety protocols while working with power tools, hand tools, and electrical wiring to ensure a safe work environment. Skills Strong knowledge of CCTV systems installation and maintenance along with experience in radio frequency (RF) testing. Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic system setup for high-speed data transmission. Expertise in computer networking including LAN/WAN setup, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), network wiring, and Cisco or Juniper router configuration. Familiarity with telecommunication systems such as VoIP phones (including Avaya), structured cabling installation, cable termination, and communication system integration. Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize diagnostic tools effectively for troubleshooting electrical or network issues. Experience working with low-voltage electrical wiring standards per NEC guidelines; knowledge of power tools for installation tasks. Service technician experience in maintaining telecommunication infrastructure within data centers or large facilities is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical clients. Knowledge of telephony systems including telecommunication testing equipment; experience with network installation projects preferred. Technical proficiency in handling equipment repair tasks involving low-voltage components and computer hardware troubleshooting.
