A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.
Overview We are seeking skilled Ericsson Exp Field Integrators to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment in various field environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and be adept at working with fiber optics, cabling systems, and networking equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the successful deployment and integration of Ericsson technologies.
Responsibilities Location :
Illinois, Michigan , Indiana , Kentucky The candidate will be responsible for supporting field activities related to Ericsson G2/G3 to G4 modernization, BU replacement, fiber connectivity, site integration, testing, troubleshooting, and equipment recovery . The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently in the field, following implementation procedures, troubleshooting network issues, and coordinating with remote engineering and customer teams. Key Responsibilities Perform field-level integration activities for Ericsson wireless network modernization projects. Support Ericsson G2/G3 to G4 equipment upgrade and modernization activities . Zero touch integration and Manually SIF file loading . Remove legacy equipment and install new Ericsson hardware, including BBU . Perform BBU installation, hardware validation, cable installation, and site readiness checks. Perform fiber installation, fiber re-routing, SFP checks, and optical link verification. Troubleshoot fiber, transmission, synchronization, and equipment communication issues. Conduct pre- and post-integration site checks . Perform emergency/911 test calls when required to validate voice-service readiness. Troubleshoot alarms, transmission connectivity, synchronization, and hardware-related issues.. Coordinate with remote NOC/RF/integration teams to resolve site issues. Perform equipment recovery activities, including removal and preparation of retired Ericsson equipment. Scan equipment labels, record serial numbers, and maintain accurate asset/inventory information. Follow approved MOPs, implementation procedures, safety requirements, and customer standards. Prepare site completion reports.
