Description:
We are looking for an experienced Data Center Technician to assist in an ongoing project downtown Boston.
Responsibilities:
Data center remote/smart hands support
Rack and stack of switches, routers, servers, and related equipment
Copper and fiber patching
Fiber inspection and troubleshooting
OTDR testing and capturing traces/results
Live-fiber/traffic verification before removing existing fiber patches
Adding network/data center capacity
Cable and patch labeling
Working through scheduled work orders and ticket backlogs
Supporting remote network engineers during troubleshooting
Providing clear status updates, photos, test results, and ticket documentation

Data center and/or telecom environments Fiber optic infrastructure Copper and fiber patching Rack-and-stack Network equipment installation Basic physical network troubleshooting OTDR operation Fiber inspection Safe identification of active/live fiber
Required Experience:
Hands-on experience with OTDR testing, optical power meters, OLTS, and fiber inspection scopes
Minimum 1+ year of Fiber Field Technician, Optical Transport Technician, Telecom Technician, or Data Center Technician experience
Strong experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, and restoring single-mode fiber (SMF) networks
Working knowledge of DWDM networks, wavelength services, and optical transport environments
Experience coordinating troubleshooting and maintenance with NOCs, transport engineers, and remote support teams
Experience supporting optical circuit turn-ups, activations, migrations, and service restorations
