In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems that power communication networks, security systems, and data infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity and optimal system performance across diverse environments. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring for telecommunications, security, and data systems using hand tools and diagnostic equipment. Perform fiber optic splicing and cable termination to establish reliable high-speed connections. Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and VoIP systems to ensure optimal communication flow. Read schematics and technical diagrams to accurately install structured cabling, Ethernet networks, and telecommunication systems. Conduct fiber optic system installation, testing with telecommunications testing equipment, and RF (radio frequency) testing to verify system integrity. Diagnose issues with low-voltage electrical wiring, network cabling, or equipment using multimeters such as ohmmeters; perform repairs or replacements as needed. Collaborate with clients on-site for field service tasks involving network installation, equipment troubleshooting, and system upgrades while maintaining excellent customer service. Qualifications Proven experience in low-voltage electrical systems installation including structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6), telephony (Avaya), and data center environments. Strong knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment, fiber splicing techniques, and network wiring standards compliant with NEC (National Electrical Code). Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet protocols, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and VoIP technology. Ability to interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and power supplies necessary for system installation and repair. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently in AC/DC electrical systems or telecommunication setups. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; relevant certifications such as BICSI certification or NICET are a plus.
