Job Description

Field Services Manager I - Telecom Construction / Integration Current Wireless Solutions (CWS) Charlotte, NC Full-Time | Office & Field-Based | Regional Travel Build Your Career With Current Wireless Solutions Current Wireless Solutions is an established and growing telecommunications General Contractor supporting major wireless deployments across multiple markets and customers. We work at the sharp end of wireless infrastructure — construction, integration, field services, troubleshooting, commissioning, modernization, and project delivery — supporting some of the largest names in the telecommunications industry. Our teams operate across multiple markets throughout the East Coast , delivering projects for major wireless carriers, OEMs, tower owners, and infrastructure partners. CWS has built its reputation around safety, quality, responsiveness, and execution . We operate in a fast-moving environment where people are trusted to take ownership, solve problems, and get projects across the finish line. As our project portfolio and Field Services operation continue to grow, we are looking for a Field Services Manager I (FSM I) to join our Charlotte operation. This is not simply a desk job — and it is not simply a field technician position. It is an opportunity for someone with wireless construction and integration experience to develop into a broader operations and project-delivery role , combining technical knowledge with coordination, troubleshooting, customer support, and project ownership. The Role The Field Services Manager I will work closely with and support the Field Services Manager II (FSM II) in the day-to-day coordination and execution of multiple telecommunications projects. The role combines project coordination, integration support, ASP management, technical troubleshooting, field deployment, scheduling, tracking, documentation, and customer communication . A significant portion of the position will involve coordinating projects from the Charlotte office — tracking sites, scheduling integrations, communicating with crews, reviewing documentation, resolving issues, and ensuring projects continue moving. However, when something cannot be solved from behind a computer, we expect our Field Services team to be capable of getting into the field and helping solve it. The FSM I must therefore be equally comfortable running a project tracker and coordinating tomorrow's integrations as they are visiting a cell site to assist with integration, call testing, troubleshooting, or construction-related issues . As knowledge of CWS operations develops, the FSM I will be given increasing responsibility and ownership of individual projects and Field Services activities. Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Operational Support Support the FSM II with the daily coordination and execution of multiple telecommunications projects. Assist with scheduling and coordinating integrations, call testing, Field Services activities, and ASP deployments . Track active sites, upcoming integrations, outstanding issues, milestones, and completion requirements. Maintain accurate project trackers, schedules, forecasts, and operational documentation. Coordinate with ASPs, subcontractors, Construction Managers, Project Managers, warehouse personnel, customers, and internal field teams . Communicate daily priorities, schedules, and project requirements to field personnel and subcontractors. Ensure crews have the information, documentation, access details, and requirements necessary before arriving on site. Follow outstanding actions through to completion rather than simply reporting the problem. Identify potential impacts to schedule, quality, safety, or customer delivery and escalate appropriately. Attend internal and customer project calls when required. Provide accurate and timely project and site-status updates. Support the FSM II with additional operational responsibilities as the Field Services department continues to expand. Integration & Technical Support Provide first-level support for scheduled cell-site integrations and commissioning activities . Assist field crews and ASPs with integration troubleshooting and issue resolution. Support call testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and site acceptance activities . Review alarms, field information, photographs, test results, and other technical documentation. Assist with radio, baseband, fiber, power, cabling, and equipment-related troubleshooting where appropriate. Coordinate technical issues between field crews, ASPs, internal management, customers, and OEM support. Escalate complex integration or operational issues to the FSM II when required. Assist with construction and integration closeout requirements. Help ensure sites progress successfully from construction through integration and final completion. Field Support When an issue cannot reasonably be resolved remotely, the FSM I must be willing and technically capable of supporting the operation in the field.
This may include:
Cell-site integration and commissioning. Call testing. Construction troubleshooting. Fiber or power troubleshooting. Equipment and cabling issues. ASP support. Site inspections. Punch-list resolution. Closeout support. Assisting crews with technical or operational problems. This position is designed for someone who understands that Field Services means owning the problem until there is a solution . Office & Project Management Responsibilities A significant part of this position involves desk-based project coordination and administration . Strong computer skills are essential. Applicants must be comfortable working with: Microsoft Excel and project trackers. Email and professional written communication. Scheduling and forecasting. Customer and internal project-management systems. Electronic documentation and file management. Site photographs and technical reports. Construction and integration documentation. Tracking outstanding actions through completion. Communicating with field crews, subcontractors, customers, and management. Managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. We are looking for someone who can bring structure and organization to a fast-moving field operation . Technical & Wireless Experience Applicants must have previous experience within the wireless telecommunications industry and a practical understanding of how a cell site progresses from construction through integration and completion.
Relevant experience includes:
Wireless telecommunications construction. Cell-site installation and deployment. Cell-site integration and commissioning. Call testing and troubleshooting. Radio and baseband equipment. Fiber and power installation and troubleshooting. Equipment installation and cabling. Construction and integration closeout. Reading construction drawings and scopes of work. Troubleshooting construction and integration issues. Working with ASPs and telecommunications construction crews. Experience supporting deployments involving Ericsson, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, or other major wireless customers and OEMs is highly desirable. Qualifications Previous telecommunications construction experience is required . Integration experience strongly preferred. Call testing, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience preferred. Strong understanding of wireless cell-site deployment. Strong computer and administrative skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, email, project trackers, and electronic documentation. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage and track multiple active projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating directly with crews, subcontractors, customers, and management. Ability to troubleshoot field problems and develop practical solutions. Willing and capable of providing hands-on field support when required. Ability to work independently while knowing when escalation is required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Certifications & Training The following are desirable: OSHA 10 or
OSHA 30. RF
Awareness. First Aid / CPR. OEM-specific integration or equipment training. Ericsson or other telecommunications equipment training. Integration & After-Hours Support Wireless deployments do not always happen between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Some integration, commissioning, and network activities are scheduled during evening or overnight maintenance windows . The FSM I will act as a first-level Field Services support resource for scheduled integrations , including coordinating with crews and ASPs, monitoring integration progress, assisting with troubleshooting, and escalating complex issues to the FSM II when required. This means the position may occasionally require evening, after-hours, or overnight support , either remotely or in the field, depending on customer schedules and project requirements. This is not an overnight-shift position; however, applicants should understand that supporting live wireless networks occasionally requires flexibility outside normal business hours. Travel & Field Expectations This is an office and field-based position . The successful candidate should expect regular office-based project coordination combined with field deployment when operational or technical support is required. Regional travel throughout CWS operating markets will be required depending on project needs. Occasional overnight travel may also be necessary. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can become a dependable right hand to the Field Services Manager II while developing into someone capable of independently owning projects. You should be technically capable, organized, dependable, proactive, accountable, comfortable under pressure, and willing to learn . You should understand wireless construction but also appreciate that successful project delivery requires more than knowing how to build a site. It requires planning, communication, documentation, follow-through, troubleshooting, and ownership . If you are currently working in wireless construction or integration and want to move into a position where you can develop broader project-management and operational experience without completely leaving the field behind , this role offers that opportunity. Why Current Wireless Solutions? CWS isn't looking for someone to simply fill a seat. We are building a Field Services operation capable of supporting an increasingly diverse portfolio of wireless construction, integration, and deployment programs. Our employees work directly alongside experienced telecommunications professionals and are exposed to multiple customers, technologies, markets, and project types . At CWS, strong performers are given responsibility. People who demonstrate technical ability, reliability, leadership, and ownership have the opportunity to take on larger projects and progress within the organization. You'll be joining a company that values safety, quality, accountability, execution, teamwork, and growth . Our Operations, Project Management, Construction, Field Services, Warehousing, ASPs, and subcontractor teams work together toward the same objective: delivering safe, high-quality projects for our customers . If you're looking to move beyond being purely a field technician and want the opportunity to develop into Field Services leadership, project delivery, and telecommunications operations , we want to hear from you. About Current Wireless Solutions Current Wireless Solutions (CWS) is a telecommunications General Contractor providing wireless construction, integration, Field Services, project management, and operational support across multiple markets.
