Job Description

Fiber TechnicianAbout the Opportunity Signal Cable is looking for motivated individuals to join our field operations team as Fiber Technicians. This position is focused on supporting the construction, installation, maintenance, and restoration of fiber optic networks serving residential and commercial customers. Every workday presents different challenges, from installing new fiber services and completing repairs to testing network performance and supporting expansion projects. We're looking for people who enjoy working outdoors, solving technical problems, and delivering quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time W-2 employee position offering consistent work, long-term career opportunities, and the chance to grow within an expanding telecommunications company. Compensation & Employment Technicians are compensated under a production-based pay system using the Company's current Rate Schedule. Weekly earnings commonly range between $1,500 and $2,000 depending on completed production, workload, and overall performance. Although compensation is production-based, all earnings are reviewed to ensure full compliance with applicable federal and state minimum wage and overtime laws. Any required wage adjustments are provided by the Company. Daily Responsibilities As part of our field team, you'll assist with a variety of network activities, including fiber installation, cable routing, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service restoration. You'll also be responsible for documenting completed work, reporting production accurately, and keeping supervisors informed of project progress and field conditions. Every assignment must be completed according to company procedures, customer specifications, OSHA requirements, and established quality standards while protecting existing utilities and customer property. What We're Looking For Successful candidates are dependable, organized, and comfortable working in outdoor environments. Previous experience with fiber optics, telecommunications, broadband services, low-voltage systems, or similar technical work is preferred. You should be able to use standard hand tools, mobile devices, and testing equipment while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a commitment to safe work practices. Additional Requirements Candidates must have a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and have access to a truck, van, or SUV suitable for field work. Applicants must also successfully complete a background check and drug screening and maintain the required tools necessary to perform the position.
