We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Telecom/ VoIP Field Service Technician to join our team in Fairfield, NJ.
Position Summary:
The Telecom / VoIP Field Service Technician will install, configure, troubleshoot, and support business VoIP phone systems and related network infrastructure at customer locations throughout Northern and Central New Jersey, as well as Orange and Rockland Counties in New York. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently in the field while providing outstanding service. Experience servicing office copiers and printers is a plus but not required .
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot business VoIP phone systems Diagnose and resolve telecom connectivity issues Configure IP phones, routers, switches, and related network equipment Assist with network connectivity for business technology, including VoIP systems, printers, scanners, and multifunction devices Perform on-site system upgrades, moves, adds, and changes Educate customers on system operation and best practices Maintain accurate service documentation, parts usage, and inventory Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Electronic Office Systems professionally
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience installing and servicing VoIP or business telecom systems Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, Firewalls, routers, DHCP, VLANs, and network troubleshooting Experience with SIP-based phone systems and IP telephony Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage a daily field service schedule Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle with a clean driving record Preferred (Not Required): Experience repairing or servicing office copiers, printers, or multifunction devices General IT support experience in a business environment
