A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Job Description

A. Purpose and Scope The Field Technician (FT) is responsible for making sure all equipment in the field is installed and maintained correctly at each customer's site; also, responsible for good customer service relations including but not limited to consistent and clear communication with the client, proper follow-up, and providing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. B. Responsibilities The following list outlines the general responsibilities of the role: Install temperature monitoring devices and products Calibrate and maintain installed equipment Develop test procedures and fixturing as required Maintain field records and perform installation/operational/ and performance Qualifications with correct information documented in database Comply with quality systems procedures as required Answer emergency service situations After receiving the proper training, the Field Technician will go on call and answer Emergency Service Situations. C. Organization Relationships The Field Technician reports to the National Service Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A. Education and Training The Field Technician should have a two-year technical degree, or equivalent experience as determined by the National Service Director. B. Technical Requirements The Field Technician is required to complete supervised in-house training as well as read and understand any pertinent training or department procedure manual. The Technician will be required to be proficient on all systems maintained by SafePoint Scientific. C. Experience Prior experience is not required.
