Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic DAS (Distributed Antenna System) Technician to join our team and play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless communication infrastructure. As a DAS Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal network performance by working on complex telecommunication systems, fiber optic cabling, and related hardware. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot DAS systems, including antenna distribution and signal enhancement equipment. Perform fiber splicing and cabling tasks utilizing hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to ensure secure and efficient connections. Conduct network installation activities involving Ethernet, Cat5, Cat6 cabling, and telecommunications hardware such as Cisco routers and Juniper equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute system setups and repairs. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and future reference. Perform routine inspections of telecommunication infrastructure within data centers or field sites to identify issues proactively. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding system status, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance schedules. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunication or network systems. Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, VoIP telephony (including Avaya), LAN/WAN networks, and low voltage electrical work. Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques, cable management (including Cat5/Cat6), and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Knowledge of electrical safety practices and the use of testing tools such as ohmmeters for diagnosing electrical issues. Background working in data centers or telecommunication environments with an emphasis on equipment repair and network troubleshooting. Strong understanding of computer hardware, networking protocols, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and power distribution systems. Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to all safety protocols related to electrical work and telecommunications installation.
