Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to verify system integrity and troubleshoot issues within fiber optic networks. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams to accurately install and maintain telecommunications infrastructure. Perform telecommunications cable splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal quality and minimal loss. Conduct telecommunications outside plant operations including trenching, cable pulling, and conduit installation in accordance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). Support technical troubleshooting efforts related to fiber optic systems, network cabling, LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, telephony, and IT infrastructure. Skills Proven experience in field service operations involving fiber optic systems installation and maintenance. Strong knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment, voltmeters, and troubleshooting tools. Hands-on experience with telecommunications outside plant operations including cabling, trenching, and conduit installation. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and efficiently in outdoor work environments. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams related to fiber optic networks. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, cable splicing techniques, and electrical safety standards. Familiarity with electrical concepts including low voltage systems, electrical troubleshooting support, and engineering troubleshooting methods. Excellent climbing skills necessary for working at heights on poles or structures while adhering to safety protocols.
